Dua Lipa is an English singer and musician born August 22, 1995 in London United Kingdom. The singer-songwriter signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 after she was a model and dropped her debut album, self-titled in 2017. The album was ranked at number 3 on the U.K. Charts and produced 8 singles. They included Be The One I.D.G.A.F The U.K. Number One track New Rules as well as the U.K. Number. 1 Single New Rules. Lipa received the Brit Award in the year 2018 for British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum across a variety of countries. The parents of her are Albanians from Kosovo. Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. Additionally, her ancestors are from Peja, which is a Kosovo town of Peja. The grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has an older brother called Gjin. Lipa was taught guitar playing and sing from her father Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads Kosovan's band Oda. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music, which included his original compositions, as well as songs by artists like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. In the year she turned nine years old, Lipa started to sing in the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed If I Ain't Gone You from Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. In 2014, Lipa was signed to a contract with Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released in august 2015.
